xavie
What is to much money to you? I just bought a sentry and had a good look at many different styles. Are you planning on bolting it down or need a heavy one?

markzz
I have a buffalo river as a scond safe and it is very good safe and very good value for moneycheers Len Me too. I have a 6 gun safe, my only critisizm is that the ammo locker is too small. I wished I bought a larger safe eg an 8 gun with the larger ammo area. Matt M
I bought my safe from Fox Safes about a year ago. Price was just under $800 from memory and I could comfortably fit 7 rifles with scopes in it and have none of them touching (could fit more if you squeezed them in). It also has two external lockers for ammo and stuff, one of which is rated for handguns so I’m set if (more like when) I go down that path in the future. It weighs about 140kg (empty) and I’ve got it bolted to concrete with five 16mm dyna bolts so it’s not going anywhere in a hurry. About the only thing that I’d do differently is get one with a digital lock instead of keys. Not much good having a safe if the thieves can find your keys when they break in! Have to remember to carry the keys with me when I go out to protect against this. I’ll post a pic of the setup when I get home from work. Matt M
Watch out for the amount of guns that a safe claims to hold. From what I've seen they are usually optimistic at best. My safe is "supposed" to hold 10-12 rifles but I don't think that I'd be able to get any more than 7 scoped rifles in their without them being crammed up against each other which I prefer not to do. I've attached a pic so you can get an idea on the size. You don't want to get something that claims to hold exactly what you are after and then find it's too tight a squeeze for your liking. matt75
Big Iron are good for dollars and generally have five locking pins verses two of most. As above get a handgun safe for ammo and bolts so you can organise your equipment and put other vaubles in it.

qld
I bought one from a gun store. I cant remember the brand name. They were $300. 8 guns. NO lining. Just the foam to divid the guns. They have no handles. There is just a key hole that you unlock and lock and you grip the door with the key to open it. If you know what I mean. It might have been Rico or Rieco the name of it. Edited April 15, 2008 by JohnSmith
